Optimizing your recovery
Recovery times vary depending upon which procedure you are interested in, and you will discuss this with Dr. Claytor and his practice coordinator when you meet with them. When you leave the hospital or our Quad-A Certified certified surgical facility, you will be given your prescriptions and written post-operative instructions. You will receive a call from our nurse or medical assistant the following day, and should you have any concerns, Dr. Claytor is always available to answer your questions.
When you are discharged, Dr. Claytor will advise you when to schedule your postoperative check-up – generally within five days depending upon which procedure you have done.
Be good to yourself. Remember, you have had major surgery, and you will need to follow your instructions (especially with regard to resting, bending and lifting!) in order to achieve your optimal recovery.
