At Claytor Noone Plastic Surgery, your anesthesia will be specifically tailored to meet your needs depending on which procedure or treatment you are considering. You will meet with both your surgeon and with your anesthesiologist to ascertain that all of your questions and concerns are met. Because your safety is our greatest concern, we use only board certified anesthesiologists. This means that your anesthesiologist is highly qualified and has met the stringent training and criteria of the American Board of Medical Specialties.

If you are like many who have chosen cosmetic surgery, you may be more concerned about the anesthesia than about the procedure itself. The good news is that 21st century anesthesia has made vast improvements over what many of us remember from 30 years ago thus minimizing risks due to anesthesia.

Improvements in the safety of anesthesia can be attributed to three main factors:

• The level of training of Anesthesiologists
• Advances in monitoring equipment
• Improved anesthesia drugs

Important improvements through new medications and protocols have also been made which have reduced the incidence of post-operative nausea and vomiting.

On the day of your surgery, you will meet with your anesthesiologist. Your anesthesiologist will review your chart and health history and answer any of your concerns or questions. Your anesthesiologist is an important part of your care team and will be constantly monitoring your vital functions until you wake up.
